Welcome to Collectives!

:waving_hand: Welcome to Collectives - your smarter, more creative community hub.

This site exists to help creators (musicians, artists, coders, DJs, hobbyists and anyone else!) centralize, organize, and promote their work.

Whether you want to keep track of your own DJ set recordings, create web-linked promotional threads for events, or simply hang around and discuss playlists and tracks, Collectives is the place to keep everything in one neat and easily searchable space.

 Collectives has been custom-built and maintained by @Saen since March 2025. We are a small community and I am always open to suggestions, praises or criticisms. (See here!)

Why Join Collectives Instead of Staying on WhatsApp?

This site intends to solve this problem through a forum-based thread setup, which can be edited, updated and revamped as needed. Threads posted on this site are public by default, but locked / private threads are also possible. Video and audio isn’t directly hosted on the site, but embedding and link integrations are highly customizable!

:face_with_spiral_eyes: As a creator, losing track of your content is very easy!

  • A Lasting Archive, Not a Vanishing Chat!
Everything here is neatly categorised and fully searchable. No more hunting through buried WhatsApp messages. You’ll always find that mix or playlist when you need it.

  • Multimedia with Integrity
Unlike WhatsApp’s blurry and compressed files, here your embeds (audio, video, whatever you want!) keep their quality and live right where they belong.

  • Casual, Asynchronous Interaction
No more chat ping anxiety or being overwhelmed by messages. Engage at your own pace, and revisit topics or discussions when best suits you!

What Else You’ll Find Here

  • :white_check_mark: Flexible Content Formatting & Embeds
Rich HTML, polls, spoilers, summaries, and visual flair options for posts. Make your promotional material stand out!

  • :link: Permanent Linking
Providing permanent links to content is really useful when shared, as these can be updated periodically without losing track of new / old stuff.

  • :date: Event Posting & Calendar Integration
    Very Useful!

  • :triangular_ruler: \boxed{MathJax} Support for Fellow Nerds!
For coders and mathematicians. I also decided to implement an olympiad mathematics problem solver bot. Not everyone’s cup of tea maybe, but if you are interested then do have some fun with it!

If there’s anything you need help with or any suggestions you want to make, we have topic & issue threads in Welcome! where these can be given too.

How do I navigate this site?

Good question!

Clicking or tapping the :collectives: icon in the upper left hand corner will always take you to the site’s home page. This is the easiest way to find everything you’re looking for!

On this page, you’ll see a whole bunch of features! Let’s go through where these links will take you.

Guide to Homepage Links

:card_file_box:Latest Topics

At the top of the homepage, you’ll see this button. This allows you to view everything posted on this site, chronologically. Please note that certain :bell_with_slash: Unlisted topics will not show up here, and you won’t be able to see anything that you don’t have the required permissions for.

:rocket:All Categories

Next to latest topics is a button to view a list of all the site’s topic categories. This can be useful if you’re looking for something specific, such as the :speaker_medium_volume: Events page.

This site has lots of different categories for different things, such as the :headphone: Media Library or the :memo: General > Weekly Challenges categories.

If you’ve got a hobby project you would like to document, please get in contact with @Saen! We can set you up with your own, personal category, where you’ll be a thread moderator and can post whatever you like.

:person: Profile Information

If you’re logged in, you will see some details about your profile, such as your username, title, trust level (0-4) and how long you’ve been on the site.

:speaker_medium_volume: Site Announcements

Next to your profile information. There’s often important site updates and other cool things here, so be sure to check this section once in a while, particularly if you’re interested in the site’s development!

:envelope: Inbox, :speech_balloon: Chat and :bell: Notifications

The Inbox is a really cool feature! It allows you to send private message threads to other users. You can also send messages directly to email addresses, should you wish.

Chat will allow you to see messages from admins, or from chat channels.

Notifications will allow you to see anything new you’ve missed, such as new mentions, messages, or threads you’re following.

:floppy_disk:My Posts

See everything you’ve posted on the site. Good if you want to delete stuff quickly or find one of your own posts. This won’t show personal message posts though.

Watched Posts and Muted Posts

See posts you’re following (i.e. you’ll receive email updates on) or posts you’ve completely silenced (i.e. won’t show up anywhere). Very useful if you’re getting annoying emails and want to remove watching status from a post.

Site FAQs

You may want to have a look at some of the FAQs put together over here. They cover some important information, like - can the devs read your password? What does this site run on? and other things you may want to know.

GDPR Compliance

Collectives doesn’t host content (except below 25MB) - that’s done with seamless integration to Google Drive and YouTube. All content posted on this site is owned by the person that posted their material. You are also free to request an archive of all your activity on this site by going to profile settings.
